Caer Las exists for the benefit of the people who need, and use our services. Our overarching purpose is to work throughout Wales, either in partnership or directly delivering services that fulfil our vision. We are dedicated to ensuring that our collective resources of people, skills, experience, expertise, assets and finance are used exclusively for our charitable aims.
Caer Las Cymru offers a variety of services to vulnerable adults. We currently operate across 5 South Wales local authority areas: Cardiff, Bridgend, Neath-Port Talbot, Swansea and Carmarthenshire. We provide four distinct types of service:
Tenancy Support Services
Community and Activity Centres
Advice, Advocacy and Drop in services
We see our primary purpose as:
Helping people access appropriate accommodation
Helping people secure an income
Supporting people to sustain their tenancy and develop their life skills
Assisting people to develop a sense of well being and participation in community life
Fostering confidence and self belief
We specialise in providing support to people who are vulnerable due to mental or physical health issues, learning difficulties, substance or alcohol use, poverty, age or involvement in the criminal justice system and may be homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Although we are a medium sized organisation we span an extremely diverse range of funding streams and areas of service delivery.
This complex and diverse environment also brings with it an eclectic and varied mix of scrutiny, accountability and regulatory requirements.
